From AI to helping families after a death – other ways I make an impact
A little smorgasbord of strategic initiatives and side projects that show how I like to make a wider impact.
AI
I designed EcoOnline's first AI product, increasing efficiency by 420%
Checklists are an integral part of health & safety. It was taking our users an average of 25 minutes to create each one, leading to complaints about inefficiency.
In 2024 I designed an AI health & safety checklist generator – a greenfield project to allow users to create health & safety checklists using a single prompt, with a brand new editing experience to allow users to refine the output.
The project was a huge success, reducing time to create and finalise a checklist to just 5 minutes – a 420% increase in efficiency.
AI workflows
I'm helping EcoOnline's design team level up with AI
I'm a passionate advocate for AI. At EcoOnline, I host regular design team workshops where we discuss AI tooling, workflows, environmental concerns and more.
I've instigated workshops with our FE devs to investigate opportunities for bringing design and code closer together with AI.
I'm constantly looking for ways to improve my own design workflows with AI.

TEAM CULTURE
I designed a tool for giving better feedback, and we built it at a hackathon
I'm a passionate believer that a healthy feedback loop builds awareness and helps people improve, and we have a responsibility to develop the people we care about.
In 2023 I designed a tool to help people give better feedback. During a hackathon at Thriva, I worked with engineers to build it in just a few hours.

USER-centered
I created inclusive, actionable personas to help teams empathise with sensitive topics
Personas are a tool to help product teams make customer-centred decisions. The best personas are actionable and evidence-based.
At Farewill, my colleague Clare and I wanted ours to useful, relevant and unbiased. First, we gathered insights from hours of customer interviews. Then, we rigorously pieced together inclusive personas. Used in onboarding, training and beyond, they help the Farewill team empathise with customers dealing with death.

team performance
I've created Miro boards for team reflection and trust-building
Trust is the foundation of high performing teams. And I love a good Miro board! I've even created a template for others to use.
SIDE PROJECT
In my spare time, I help hundreds of families around the world deal with death
Seeing an opportunity to support people during life's difficult moments, in 2025 I launched a service offering low-cost, easy-to-use tools helping families plan for and deal with death. It has been an immensely rewarding experience so far which has challenged me as a designer.
